Hello,
I was wondering how much would bad grades count when there are extreme financial situations and discriminatory bullying worthy enough to get the police involved. This is what I am currently going through, and because of these drastic circumstances, my grades plummeted for 2 years. Now, I switched schools and am an honour student with great recommendations. So how much would this count for?
Thanks

It can count a bunch, depends how you present it.

Thanks, anybody else?
And how would I present it?

Hello? Anyone?

I’m in the same exact boat. Had financial trouble for two years and had a 3.3. Switched schools after my sophomore year and entered a rigorous all IB preparatory curriculum and achieved a 3.8. It really does depend on how you present it. Make sure you include it in the “additional info” section (final tab) of the common app or any other application where you see fit.

Please chance me here:

If you explain them I think you will be fine…
