It is with a heavy heart that I report to you that NJTheatreMOM passed away yesterday, April 20, 2017.
Although she had been dealing with some recent health challenges, her death was unexpected. I am stunned and saddened, and I’m sure all of you are, too.
NJTheatreMOM was a long time member of our book club and her distinctive voice, insightful comments and generous heart will be greatly missed.
In a memorial tribute on Facebook, her son posted, “I have never met someone who loved a good book as much as my mom. I have also never met someone who could greet a mediocre book with so much scorn.”
How true! The CC Book Club will not be the same without her. Godspeed, NJTheatreMOM.
I am also one who doesn’t usually have time to participate in the book club but I do always remember her insightful posts in general. My thoughts to her familly.
Thank you so much for posting. I am really going to miss her presence in our reading discussions. She always had an assortment of interesting book titles to share and was willing to read such a broad range with the book club group. Her voice was unique and informed. I’m so saddened to hear of her death.
I am not in the book club, either, but very sad to learn of her passing. She was a very insightful and informative poster on topics related to theater majors (which her son had been). My sympathies to her family and friends.
Can’t stop thinking about this tragic news about Njtheatremom. We messages not long ago and she was having some complications from a kidney transplant late last fall.
She was brilliant and her contributions to the book discussions were always insightful. She was so enthused about the upcoming selection and to be gardening soon when NJ warmed up.
I hope she is in a field of beautiful flowers with a stack of books by her side.
Such sad news.
Oh no! So sorry to hear this. I rarely participated in the book club but that’s neither here not there. I will keep her family in my thoughts and prayers.
Oh I’m so sorry. She always had such insightful posts and was never afraid to speak her mind about what she thought of a book. My heartfelt sympathy to her family.
