Another CC face-to-face: This time down under in Paradise. digmedia and company (digW and digS) visited cheers and cheersH Saturday night (which was actually Friday night in the States; we arrived home today before we had even left half a world away, thanks to the International Date Line). Unfortunately, the meeting confirmed my worst fears - that while I could easily be mistaken for the dottering grandfather of a college student, the other CC posters, including and especially cheers, are all attractive and too young-looking to possibly have a student leaving for school! We were not on time, due to driving around trying to find the restaurant and - once that was located - trying to find a parking place. The city even had signs pointing out the “Parking Search Route.”

The meal - ordered by cheers - was fantastic (especially the tea-leaf salad). The major disappointment was that her S2 was otherwise engaged, but we talked forever, drank some Burmese beer, and ended up closing the place down. Thanks, cheers, for the suggestion that we meet and for the meal. And, just as her profile says, she really does live in Paradise.

Alright… who’s going to arange all of our travel to Kansas (“Click your heels three times…”) so we can have a mid-country bash with berurah? Exclamation marks will be distributed to all attendees!!!
Wow, is that true. When we were leaving Paradise to return to reality, I pointed out to my son a girl in the airport with a camera like his. He glanced up, his eyes got big, and he ran over and gave the girl a hug! It was a friend from his small film group at school. She had gotten a grant to do a documentary film… in Paradise! What a small world.
