CC in NYC or not for nursing?

Hi.
I will be a rising senior this fall and currently live in Austin, Texas.
So, Stony Brook at NY is my dream school. But, I know my stats aren’t really good enough to get in their as a freshman. I’ve been considering going up to NYC area to attend one of CUNY community college and apply their at the end of my 2nd year to get into their nursing program my 3rd year of college.
Or, I can just stay at my state ( Texas) and just go to my state school which would be my safety school.

I really really would like to go out of state though for college. Would this be a good idea to go to a CC out of state to transfer??

Talk with your parents about the whole out-of-state tuition thing. The CC to SUNY route may not be affordable - especially if you have to get a car so that you have reliable transportation for your clinicals.

Even at CCs, nursing often has selective admission. Find out about that too. You might not be able to start as a nursing major at the CC.
