Great game last night! I loved both teams. As I mentioned on another thread, I think I have a basketball hangover.

Our son (Duke senior) was there for the final four and the game last night; got in line at 11 am yesterday and waited through a thunderstorm and hail! But that’s nothing compared to tenting for 6 weeks, I guess.

Great game! However, it kills me a bit because Butler was on my '11 D’s college list before we all knew who they were for basketball. Now the apps will go way up!

I’m a Hoosier (by birth not university affiliation) Boilermaker, after all I was born in Lafayette and raised my first few years in Purdue married student housing, and I chose two teams at the beginning. Of course, had to choose my Boilermakers (married my H while we both attended grad school there) even though they’d lost their best player before the tournament even began, but my heart rooted for Butler (mom’ an alumni as she finished the last few classes of her degree there). I grew up on Indiana basketball, went to a high school where our basketball arena was bigger than some college arenas I’ve been in here in FL. And last night was killing me, LOL. I had to stuff the pillow in my mouth as I sat on the bed and watched that game. I was afraid I might scream and wake up the neighborhood. <g> If they gave a trophy for grit, Butler would win. Made me remember the fun of Indiana basketball … sigh. </g>

H and I had pre-planned a short getaway weeks ago, and so were not in IN for the big game. It was interesting to see a different view of the two teams. I thought the media here was overplaying the D/G angle, but where we were they really played up the difference in basketball budgets, making it even out to be more of a difference than I thought.

Butler played like great all Americans…my Duke son greatly admires their program.

Duke 09 son won his entire large office Bracket kitty…outright today! GO BLUE DEVILS and we hope Sigler will sign on for one more year!

He says his Bracket was in the 99th % on ESPN as well. He floated today…watched the game with the Duke Club where he lives now.

Iderochi…thanks for starting this thread again! (I would love to hear how your son is doing …seems not long ago he was looking but that was maybe 3 years ago now?)

Couldn’t make it to Cameron today to welcome back the team so I’ve just watched the video. So happy for the players-- and for me-- I can finally replace the NCAA championship sweatshirt that I’ve been wearing since our 1992 victory!
