CC March Madness 2010

Even though I had them losing very early, I am going to have to cheer for Duke. :o

We heard via quick email from S yesterday. He is currently in Baghdad, but a proud member of the Duke class of 2008. He has been in Iraq for over seven months. With all the violence this past weekend there, it is a very depressing place to be. Even though the game is on very early Tuesday morning for them, ( they are seven hours ahead of EST), he was looking forward to watching the game and cheering on his alma mater. It will be a good diversion for him and his troops!

1sokkermom - you son must be thrilled about his alma mater! A toast to his safety. cheers!

I am cheering for Butler - their story is so amazing. They haven’t lost a game since Dec 22. I am a sucker for the underdog.

Butler has won the last 25 games. The media is making them much more of an “underdog” than they really are. The whole David vs. Goliath theme, aka “Cinderella” is really overblown. I guess it sells newspapers…

Enjoy the game, 1sokkerson, and thank you!

sokkermom - I’ll cheer for Duke for your son, and for my neighbors who are at the game and are big Duke fans, and for my bracket as I have them winning it all. But I think my heart is with Butler.

My cousins, their fiances, and my uncle are all at the game. They’ve got the Butler apparel on tonight  My cousin is a Butler grad so she’s had a good weekend already-- NCAA final four and she got engaged Saturday night…

1soccermom…will be thinking of your 2008 Duke son! May he be well and surrounded by great people as he serves our country…

My Duke 09 grad…we just drove to see him just to watch the West VA game and see him on a holiday for a bit. He is the only guy in a very large business…who had Duke down to win the bracket…and he stands to win the kitty if…

He is absolutely beside himself with love for this team but he also admires Butler and their fine program and good school spirit…

But these Duke players are terrific together

We agreed that the Blue Devils had never played better than in the West VA game…great night, and sorry to see the lead player on West VA get injured regardless…he is super talented and hope he recovers that knee

Duke fan here. Nothing against Butler, but I grew up not too far from Durham so they’re more of the hometown team for me.

I was thrilled to see them beat WVU. Couches all over West Virginia dodged a bullet.

Married to a Duke alum here! So - I’m hoping for a win.

This is an amazing game!

Now I don’t want either team to lose. They should stop the game, declare a draw and have two champions.

Unbelievably close game! Sorry that there had to be a non-winner. ;)

Yay DUKE !!! :D

Except for a few mentions on CC, I had basically never heard of Butler. But I sure got to like their basketball team and was sorry to see the lose. But the Duke win meant my daughter won the big bracket pool she entered.

I predict a huge surge in apps to Butler next year - like what happened to George Mason when they went to the Final Four.

kudos to both of those teams for an amazing game – and congrats to Duke and Blue Devils fans!

Always love seeing Duke lose, but unfortunately it wasn’t meant to be last night. Congrats to the Dookies and see ya next year. :)

Congrats to Duke!..

But Butler has the cuter coach!!!

Great game…

^ Is that age discrimination? ;)

I’ve got nothing against Duke. It’s a fine school, and I like Coach K. But this year they had the misfortune of being cast as Goliath.

Great to see an outstanding midwestern LAC get so much attention. This is a truly great school. Well endowed by Eli Lilly, amazing performing arts center and fieldhouse. Beautiful, kind of a picturesque wooded hilly grotto in the middle of a very cool artsy part of Indy. Exceptional programs in pharmacy, liberal arts, performing arts. This is one of those schools that deserves much more national recognition. Happy to see “Hoosier basketball” bringing them to the national spotlight.
