CC Member Sam Lee in the News!

Hey mods, make this a sticky!

NU Alum and CC Member Sam Lee is in the news (Inside Higher Ed)! This is regarding USC, which reportedly manipulated their numbers to gain a higher ranking on the U.S. News Best Graduate Engineering programs. Congrats, Sam Lee!

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-southern-california/727030-ranking-rigging-usc.html

As a parent of a NU student, I am grateful to Sam Lee in his involvement on this site. This research into rigging is a sad comment on USC. It shows the power of transparency, and the venue that college confidential provides.

Congrats  Interesting article too. The extent to which some colleges will go to raise their rank… It’s sad.

Big surprise, coming from the school that used academically ineligible players to beat NU in the ’96 Rose Bowl. And no, this was never proven. NU chose not to press the issue, and Southern Cal refused (and continues to refuse) to police its own athletics programs, which is the only way wrongdoing ever truly gets exposed in the world of Division I sports.

Good for you, Sam.

Why is Sam Lee pretending to be an SC grad student? If he isnt really a grad studnet at SC, these tactics to bump up NU reek

I am in grad school again. The article says I am a graduate student, NOT “graduate student at USC”. Please read carefully. I don’t “trash other universities”.
