The kids on the High School Life thread have already started 2 new years resolutions threads. Anyone here make any new years resolutions? How about CC n’ettiquette new years resolutions? Mine is to check the “search” option to look for past discussions on a topic before I inadvertently restart a discussion on the same thing (which is how I discovered that the HS’ers already started to threads on this topic). This was a pet peeve mentioned by Dima and Izzy in the Community Forum section, so I, for one, will commit to be mindful of this and read before I type.

I will try and give the benefit of the doubt and not “attack back” when people say bad things about teachers, unions, liberals, poor people, etc

Who am I kidding?

Okay, something I CAN do, is use capital letter when i (I) should, and not be lazy in my typing.

I will begin every post in the Parent’s Cafe with 'How about Clinton?" ;)

Yay!! It seems like we are resolving to be more light-hearted this year!! Halleluyah!!

Adding a new years’ wish (pet peeve issue…) that I’d originally posted on the community forum thread, along with another resolution…

" wouldn’t it be nice if…"
… people either (1) read all the threads in a post before repeating the same thing others have already said several times or (2) state at the outset of their post that they hadn’t read all of the thread (which then permits the forgiveness gods to descend upon them when they repeat something or respond to something that had been posted a while back, and their response now becomes hard to follow.)

Resolution: I’ll research better how to delete a post that I type and then regret after I’ve hit the “post quick reply” key :)

My resolution is to avoid political threads in the Parent Cafe. I don’t always post in them, but they do upset me. I’ve already backslid once today, but I’m trying. It’s harder that I thought. I may have to do just one more…

I’m with you, Dig. Lean on me, together we can get through this…you don’t have to have another…think of all the good things going on at CC…

Too late - I tried. The mind was willing, but the spirit weak…

Well, I guess I could resolve to GO to the community forum which I did not even know existed…since I am between college searches, all I read any more is Parents Forum and the cafe. So people please, when I do something here that has been mentioned elsewhere as a pet peeve, just send me a private message and let me know…
