CC to Med School

Hello , I just transfered from a CC to UCSD on the T.A.G program & plan on
going to Med-School. In a earlier post there was a statement made regarding
students who tranfer from a CC to a four year not getting into Med School due to being a former CC student. This might be true at some schools , but
is out of the norm @ UCSD. Most of the Med students @ UCSD Med School
came from a 2 year college on a transfer.
My friend whom is also in UCSD Med came from a 2 year college and got in
to Med School hands down.

When i seen this post it made me smile , but on the same token people with hope’s of getting into Med school see that post , thats not

cool due to the statement made, hints to any CC student on here with dreams of seeking a career in Medicine to give up.

I’m glad you have a program that can help. The TAG pgm only guarantees your CC credits will transfer to UCSD. Nothing with regard to med school admission is implied anywhere I have found. The LINKS pgm of course shows the med school’s interest in TAG arrivals, but that pgm seems as much geared to allied health as to medicine. That is, in any light, a good sign that they know you’re out there and you have a shot.
I would only like to see (if you can get me the link I’d owe you big time) what the actual percent of grads from UCSD is who began life as CC students. I’m not afraid to eat crow when I’ve set the table myself. Bring on the reliable stats so we can eat some bird!

The TAG program is a program that helps cc transfer stundents get into UCSD (this we know) , But i don’t ever remember stating that it (TAG Program) had anything to do with Med School or getting into Med School. It doesn’t matter on what school you went to, how much you paid for school, how you dress,if you look good in white , it
all comes down to old fashion hard work.

Can you back this up with stats from a reliable source?
