Hi, I’m a 21 year old student who will be applying to universities this semester and I was looking for some insight into Reed. I’ve heard some amazing thing about Reed and the environment seems to be a compatible one (I plan on visiting within the month to confirm)

I’m majoring in Philosophy with a GPA of 3.3 (not great, I know)

200 hours at a no kill animal shelter

6 months as a sexual assault and rape advocate (this includes counseling and physically going to the hospital with the survivors and work with them as they go through medical attention and evidence)

Planning to volunteer either in S. Africa teaching English over the summer or in an orphanage in Russia.

I will have all of my requirements done by this summer.

Arabic, Japanese, and White (don’t know if that matters)

Worked with my single mom to support our family since I was 15 (had to drop out of high school and work)

Traveled abroad alone when I was 17 (I only mention this because I was told acts of independence can be beneficial)

I really have a passion for learning, philosophy, and an open-minded environment so I’m really interested in Reed, thanks for any information!!!
