Looking for schools that meet full-need. I’m a non-traditional student, haven’t taken any standardized tests and I’ll most likely apply without test scores. Ideally I’m looking for either a strong LAC and/or urban campus experience with strong academics, intimate classroom style, and opportunities beyond the traditional classroom. I want to study humanities or social sciences. I don’t care much about rank/prestige. I am applying to my state schools and want to explore other options, so please focus on schools with good institutional aid. Thanks!
List so far:
Northeastern
Bard
Mount Holyoke
Smith
Bryn Mawr
Scripps
Pitzer
Swarthmore - kind of welcomes?? at least invites community college students to apply for free
Amherst - likely impossibly competitive? but does welcome transfers
Your question might be a little too specific. Few colleges would discriminate against applicants from community colleges, so you may want to favor those with general transfer acceptance rates at least in the vicinity of their overall first-year acceptance rates. Amherst, for example, appears to explicitly encourage transfer applications from community college students – a good sign – but its overall transfer acceptance rate was recently a vanishingly small 4.4% nonetheless. You can check other Common Data Sets to compare rates across colleges.
As long as at least one of your state Us will guarantee your admission as a transfer, and is affordale, then you are good to go. You can apply to as many of the others as you feel like.
