<p>Hi, I have been planning out my academic schedule for completing a B.A. in philosophy and it turns out I need to take roughly about 4 courses a semester in order to complete my degree on time. However, because I do not want to be stuck with taking only philosophy classes for my two year stay at Berkeley, I was planning on taking 12A and 132 during the summer. So my question is how soon do I have to SIR in order to put myself in a good position in order to register for these two courses, and do I have priority registration over freshman, sophomores, and juniors who have less units than me? Also, if I am to register for summer courses, what do they do with my housing arrangement? Do I get a dorm for the summer and then get a new dorm when the fall semester starts?</p>
