CC User Reunion 2009 - Boston?

Hi all,

Following the successes of many users here on CC in getting into boarding schools, I, as well as other CC users, thought it would be a great idea to organize a get-together in the Boston area this upcoming academic year. Obviously not all of the schools people will be attending have easy access to Boston, but obviously those who will be attending Andover, Exeter, Milton will have an easy time getting into Boston during the weekend.

I don’t think that discussing specific locations on this forum, a very public one that often shows up on Google searches, would be the best of ideas, so if you have any ideas PM or facebook me - it would be awesome to meet up with those of you who will be going to boarding school next year.

So, what do you think?

That sounds cool! and MX is close to Boston, so no probs there.

Praying I get to do this! If it pulls through this would be amazing… May I suggest Harvard Square… Nice shops and nice cafes, great place for a reunion. We can also “meet” during sports because most bs play with each other.

yesssss i totally want to do this

principalviola, even if you don’t get to go to a boarding school, I am sure you are still welcome to attend the meeting as a special guest, considering your remarkable contribution to CC.

(a little sarcastic, but mostly friendly joking) :)

that sounds like so much fun
i’ll definitely come if we find out the exact place/date/time

Times and dates will obviously be difficult to plan until all of us have our academic and athletic plans together - as it is now, we’d be planning a good five months ahead of time :|

I’m glad people are interested though! It would be great to finally get to put personalities with faces. As great as CC is, it just doesn’t replace personal interaction, and I know from personal experience that many peoples’ online presences are very, very different from physical ones. It would be great to talk over pizza/Starbucks/sushi?/other food of some sort and then after maybe see a film or something.

And principalviola, I sincerely hope you get to go to boarding school. Keep working on your parents. And Izzy, sorry I keep forgetting you go to MX! So disregard my asking that in my PM =)

Hahah I need to add you guys on facebook!

Then we can plan more on there

this is going to be loads of fun if it does happen :D

Oh, it will. It will just require some organization and a free Saturday.

Exeter=Saturday classes… See what I mean about the non-existent social life? Apparently the dating scene is Evening Prayer… AHH!

I’m sure we could figure it out though… Has any other CC “year” planned something like this before? I sincerely doubt it, but if they have, perhaps they can give us a few pointers. hint hint

I think this should be something we do after finals. Right before break or something? The weekend of? Saturday classes mess things up, plus athletic events.

Hahaha, my exeter tour guide was talking about evening prayer. Quote: “It’s so cool, they don’t expect you to actually pray and you get to be paired with a girl. I don’t even have to ask the girl!”

Oh my, those Exonian guys must be real lady’s men.

My, my, whenever I made fun of Exeter’s social scene, I was mostly joking… But maybe my jokes were accidentally truthful to a certain extent…

See, Andover has Saturday classes too. But only like three times a year. HAHA

Yeah, maybe before a break is more feasible. But again, at this point, only time will tell.

Eck. Harvard Square.
If I go I’ll just be tagging along with other new Andover people.

Purston,
You are going to get tacked by someone 6 inches shorter than you on that day. It will come out of no where. You will be like: “I just saw a flash of red and I fell to the ground, WTH”, then my friend, you will experience what it feels like to be tackled by an exonian.

Haha, Pach, please, you’ll be in Saturday classes.

Riiight. Okay, see, at the beginning of your post, I thought you meant you were going to stick me with a thumb tack or something. Nice.
