Hi there! I am now applying for a graduate degree in Computer Engineering in the field of VLSI. Now I have 3 ADs from the schools above. Can anyone offer some suggestions in this issue? Thanks for any comment!

what school is CE Poly?? Between Clemson and Cincinnati there’s probably not a huge difference but Clemson would get the edge (in US News, Clemson is #62, Cincinnati is #71 for computer engineering graduate schools)

Sorry for being confusing… it’s NYU Poly/Cincinnati/Clemson. which do you suggest?

I would definitely say Clemson

Cincinnati is a great place (at least the surrounding area is) but UC is in a dumpy neighborhood with crime, Clemson is in the country.

Could I ask why?

Thanks for the information! By the way are the rankings like US NEWS very important?

I think it’s a helpful tool. Now I wouldn’t take the exact rankings too seriously (like pick a school because it’s ranked #3 while another school is #5) but it can give you a good idea of the general reputation of that school in that field.

Thanks! Clemson is good but in the VLSI field Poly seems better. I heard from a graduate there that the school is strong in power/light/control

I would say Cincinnati, just because I love the city of Cincinnati and the difference in ranking between them and Clemsn doesnt seem that big

I see…How deos NYU Poly compare with Cincinnati? Do you have any suggestions?
