Terrible situation. Definitely hurts MSU’s reputation in some minds, although this event was off campus and sparked, largely, but non-MSU students … but there were MSU students involved and as of yesterday, I believe about 6 may be suspended pending trial and possible expulsion. Fact is, though, while this bad event got tons of news attention, most say (and I agree) that its a blip in MSU’s academic rep and means nothing toward jobs and grad school after MSU – the university is more sought after by applicants and employers alike. Most realize this was the work of a few knuckleheads while the vast majority of students weren’t involved and are as equally appalled by this. Michigan State is too strong let this event harm it in any long-term sense.

Yeah my buddy was there, said it was a good time. They started off with flashbangs and they were chanting for tear gas… well they got it He said his throat still hurt the next day and his nose was running from it. As for academic reputation for this one event… come on lol
