Cell phone help - need advice!

<p>Hey all,</p>

<p>I’m using Verizon, and I’m up for a discount on a new phone. I just got the Samsung SCH-A870 and am not very happy with it.</p>

<p>1) Any recommendations for phones in general? I want to get a phone for free (yeah, I’m cheap), so I think the 2-year contract price has to be under $99.</p>

<p>2) Specifically, I’m looking at the RAZR v3m and LG VX8300. Can anyone tell me:
–Is there a hotkey that you can push to get into vibrate/silent? For example, on some phones, you can hold down #.
–When you go into silent mode, does the camera shutter still make a sound? Is there a way to turn the shutter off?
–Does the external display stay on a) when you’re on the phone and b) when the phone is idle? If not, is it easy to turn the display back on?
–How is call quality?</p>

<p>razr sucks, everyone has it, dont get it, you’ll lose any and all individualiaty you have</p>

<p>Yeah, I haven’t heard very many good things about Razrs.</p>

<p>I used to have an LG phone and I was really satisfied with it. The call quality was excellent and I do remember a hotkey for vibration mode. I don’t know anything about that specific phone though, but I’ve had good experience with LG.</p>
