Cell phone service on the Wesleyan campus

Is Verizon or AT&T better? We want to switch to Verizon in June (when our contract with AT&T is up), but want to make sure that Verizon’s coverage is good in Middletown.

We (3 Verizon users) just spent the weekend there for WesFest. Verizon works fine - not a surprise as Middletown is hardly in the middle of nowhere:)

“237 High St, Middletown, Connecticut 06459” is the address if you want to check the coverage online.

Although not the best coverage indicator, the maps provided online say that all of the major 4 carriers (Verizon, At&t, Sprint and T-mobile) say that they have coverage across all of campus, so it should only come down to how strong the building penetration is. Generally, CDMA carriers (Verizon and Sprint) should be the best but as always, ymmv.

When I was at WesFest I always had full service while outside or in open buildings, and my Internet (I have a smartphone) was significantly faster then I am used to at home. For me, the service was incredible because I wasn’t used to it. But in the basement of Exley I had no service, but that is completely understandable. Definitely switch to Verizon. They rock.
