Unfortunately, I applied to 11 schools, and was very much essay-ed out, so I didn’t do Penn’s optional essay. They got my common app essay, and the why Penn essay, but not the third one. Does that hurt my chances a lot? Honestly I thought my personality came out really strongly in my other two (for my common app essay I wrote about Quark, my adopted penguin who lives in South America, and my love of physics).

I applied to 13 schools so I was in the same position as you with my essays… But luckily for me one of my other essays fit nicely into Penn’s third prompt.

Aw, I’d like to read the Quark essay, actually. Several of the people who posted were already accepted to Penn ED, so I don’t think you have to worry.

lol quark, you sent me a message, but you didn’t include the essay! id still like to read it if you want another opinion. and you can trust I won’t steal it-I already applied RD to Penn.

Okay, I’ll try to PM people my Quark essay, which was my main common app essay that I sent to all my schools.

EDIT Mkay, apparently private messages don’t work for essays! I guess I should email, then? Oy! It’s a shame I can’t just post it, but I’m so paranoid.
