I currently attend Cerritos College and joined the Scholar’s Honor Program.

I hear they have great accecptance rates for people that complete the program, though in a week i’m moving to West Covina and believe Rio Hondo is a closer community college.

I’m wondering if their SHP program, or whatever name it goes by is a good program indeed.

I’m looking possibly at an Anthro major and so far at Cerritos have 1 of 6 SHP essays completed.

I’m applying this fall for the Fall 2009 Semester at some UC’s. My main choices are Berekely, UCLA, Irvine, or SD.

I’m posing this question only because I’m moving to West Covina and Rio Hondo is much closer than Cerritos College and the bottom line is that I just want the best chance to get into the UC of my choice, Berekely as my top choice.

Also, even if what I complete at Cerritos (SHP stuff) would transfer into Rio Hondo’s program…

anyone?

I think it might be worth too much trouble to switch to another CC the year before I transfer and i’m applying in a few months too.

At Cerritos I already got priority fall sign up date, earliest date possible i believe… and that sign up is 2 weeks away.

Feels like i might lose this edge if i switch over to rio hondo…but then again, i dont know…

Whether you should transfer would depend on how many units you completed at Cerritos. If you stayed there for one semester, you can pretty much painlessly transfer to another CCC. Keep in mind that some CCCs may require minimum residency for their honors programs or may have limitations on the number of honor units transferred from another CCC. You should check your Rio Hondo’s policies on that. Also, you may not get into your top choice if you keep spelling it as Berekely.

my spell check always adds that E after the R; i dont know how to override that.

i’ve signed up at Cerritos about 2 years ago, attending there for about 1 Year and 2 summers, including this one. I’m at 40 Units. This is what i’m thinking why I feel I just might be opening a can of worms if i decide to transfer now to another CC.

If you already have 40 units, it’s better to complete your program at Cerritos. You only need 6 or 7 more classes, which could be done in 2 semesters.
