CGS questions

1) Can you directly apply?
2) Do you recommend it?

Noahh, there are dozens of threads about CGS in this forum. Search and you’ll get a lot of information quickly. Also go to the [CGS website](General Studies).

Why would you wanna “directly apply” as in voluntary pay for the 13th grade?

That wasn’t nice or correct. CGS is a 2 year program like General Studies at NYU. You can look at the admissions site to see how the scores compare to the rest of BU. You go through this program and then transfer into your college of choice at BU - same at NYU - and then graduate with a BU degree. Some people love it and some don’t. Some people look down at CGS students, but most don’t.

yes

depends. if u think u would get into another BU school, i would apply there instead. you’ll have more freedom with picking classes your first two years. but if u don’t think you’ll get in, u can apply to CGS, which is easier to get accepted into.

I applied EDI to CGS. DJ, you’re a jerk.

I know a few people who applied to CGS because they felt it was the best choice for them and the best path to take. Don’t listen to people like DJ who sit on their high horses and insult it. By the way DJ, while it is perfectly understandable to have an opinion on things, sometimes its best to keep it to yourself when it contributes absolutely nothing to a conversation or discussion and only serves to insult others. Also, your not even a freshman yet. You haven’t attended a day of BU and won’t be a student there until September so you’re really not in a position to be passing judgement just yet.

Not to mention our degrees say the same thing…
