CGS Science

I was accepted into CGS and I am very intrested in persuing some type of science major at BU. I have been told that the CGS science courses dont fufill and of the introductory science course requirments (Chem 101…). Therefore I assume that getting a science degree from CAS starting from CGS is very diffcult. On the other hand i hear that it might be possible to “opt out” or CGS science courses and take CAS courses instead. If anybody has anythoughts or information on this topic please share.

There should be a number somewhere on the BU website for the CGS front office. Give them a call–they would be glad to answer your questions and explain how the program will work in your situation.

I know many Biology and Physics Majors in CGS. I dont believe that CGS classes fulfill the intro science course req. at CAS, but you may overload during a semester either your junior or senior year or take summer school to fulfill these req. Same as if you were going to SMG, CGS students are required to overload during junior or senior year or take courses over the summer.
