Chaaanncess are, we'll find a new equation...

So my first ever chance post. I’m aiming for the Huntsman program.

SAT: M(790) R(720) W(700) Total(2210)
ACT: 34
SAT II: Math(800) Physics(730)

GPA: Weighted(4.6) Unweighted(4.0)

Rank: 3/515

ECs:
Played Violin for 10 years
Concertmaster of high school symphonic orchestra for 3 years
St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra Violinist for 3 years
Missouri All-State Orchestra Violinist 2 years
President of Mu Alpha Theta(Math Honor Society)
Officer of NHS
Junior Class Vice President
Varsity Tennis singles player every year of high school

200+ volunteer hours

Bonus points if you can guess the song in the title of the thread!

You are SO academically qualified. Seriously. The scores are spread out well over all the sections and your ACT is great!
I just don’t know about ECs but if you write good essays I bet you’ll have a super strong shot!

pretty good

and we’re like the same person lol good luck

You’re a beast.
Good Luck and I love the ‘Chances Are’ song

thank you all!!!

who knows, you’re certainly qualified. What language are you going for? I’m pretty sure somewhere on the Huntsman site, they want you to have taken the SAT II in your target language (Penn has their own test for languages not offered on the SAT II).

There’s a point that after you cross it, there’s really no telling whether you’d get in or not. You certainly have great scores, so now I suppose it depends on those essays and that language SAT II.

4.0 unweighted? So you’re a straight A student? Being ranked 3rd out of 515 is no easy feat, but I have to question how demanding your school is. A Physics score of 730 would be seen as a point of weakness, as would your SAT score.

Again, 4.0 unweighted is always impressive, but your qualifications in total may only just barely get you into the conversation. I hope that you’ve stressed your strengths, because generically good students are a dime a dozen.

i totally forgot to say that I took the Chinese SAT II and scored 740! so if you guys could factor that in to my chances, that’d be great

pelikan: yes i’m a straight A student. I agree that my SAT isn’t the best. and my school isn’t that demanding but the top ten kids are really competitive.
