those three are very tough , but I think you got a fairly good chance

only bad part of your resume is your SAT score. Average acceptance SAT hovers around 1500, but you might be able to make up for it with your activities and a solid essay.

1500 is higher than avg acceptance. I’d say 1450 is avg acceptance

I’d say you have excellent chances. These programs are very competitive though but your chances are better than most.

now can u people tell me why he has a shot i’m not doubting that he doesn’t but don’t you need a 1500+ on the sat’s

is it because he has really good sat II

and by the way what did u get on ur ap exams for junior year

i’m currently a junior so i havent taken those ap tests yet. Do you think those scores would have a large impact on my admissions prospect?

And i am also planning to retake the SAT I sometime this school year, perhaps march or so–hopefully i can score higher.

if you do very well on your AP tests (4 or 5) it will help.

i’m surprised you’ve done so much and you’re only a junior. nice job, i’m pretty sure unless you botch something, one of those schools should accept you.

make sure you explain all of your ECs in depth to accentuate them, and very nice awards.

only thing i’d work on is SAT I., holy crap nice SAT IIs as a sophmore… you’re like a full year ahead of me.

The following five schools would all be very competitive, yet progs which a student of your caliber should vie for. This list does not take residency and the financial aspect into account. Go for it and good luck.

<li>USC Bac/MD ~ 8 yrs 30-33 accepted out of 600-700</li>

I don’t think the SAT IIs are as important as some may think for the BU SMED program. I’m currently in the program this year and one of my classmates in the program with me had a 680 on the Chem SAT, which is not a bad score by any means, but to many of the CC-ers here, may be perceived as low.

Most students applying to these programs are top notch, right? But the medical schools and universities that have these 8 year programs are not that high up on the list. Don’t you think that these top students will be able to get in top med schools like Hopkins, Harvard, UCSF when they graduate from college?

Well, Baylor’s a very good medical school.

But yes, I think that’s a very important criticism.

these med programs are for the above average caliber. the elite 2400 people really dont need to do this route for they probably can get into the Harvard med or johns hopkin med. however, the normal caliber students dont get in because of the requirement and selection process. However, it is still possible that the normal kids will still get into the same med school after 4 years.
