Chachachachances?

Okay, I know these stupid thread names that start with “chance me” are SUPER cliche and everything, but I’m not even gonna lie, I’m kinda interested in what you wonderful people have to say about me.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Okay, I’m not going to give every single tiny itty bitty wittle detail, but I’ll give you the rough outline.

I applied for 7 schools- Deerfield, Choate, Hotchkiss, Andover, Milton, St. Andrew’s (DE), and Lawrenceville.

I’m an outgoing person [: My interviews all went pretty well.

So I was in the 95% percentile for my SSAT scores. Ahoohah?
I’m in 10th, but I’m actually re-applying for 10th grade because I’m foteen. AKA 14. (Mah birdayyy is September 5th)

As a sophomore, I’ve made straight-As in junior high, but I’ve gotten a few Bs on my report card, but the majority of my classes are As. I go to a lame public school.
I’m taking a year ahead in math and I’m in my 3rd year of my foreign language. 6 out of my 8 classes are Pre-AP/AP.

I’m been on the spelling UIL team since freshman year and I’ve advanced to district and stuff.

I was on the Wall of Fame in 7th & 8th grade…you had to get A’s in all your classes & citizenship.

Uhm, I love fine arts stuff. LOOOVE. Like so far, I’ve made the All-State Orchestra for Texas, and I’ve been the All-Region concertmistress ( I play violin :3)2 years in a row in junior high, plus all these random state solo competitions.
I also play the piano, and I’ve been accompanying this local Chinese choir pretty much every week for 3 years now as my main volunteer service, and I’ve also been a finalist to a state solo & ensemble contest dealio.
I really don’t have the time to do a lot of other fine artsy stuff right now, because my public school gives me so much freakin busy work it’s not even funny, but at school, I’m taking dance, and I’ve taken dance before for 2 years.
I was in musical theater classes and production for 3 years until I had to quit, and I was in the All-City choir in 6th grade…I didn’t bother trying out in junior high, and I was in choir through junior high.
I used to be in ice-skating, swimming, track, and tennis…then I quit everything, and dance is my main physical thing now.
I mean…I could list all the crap I’ve done, but that’s just the main overview.

Sankyoo guys for all the feedbackk!
~K

Ok, you look like you’ve got a lot of EC’s and your SSAT and school grades seem fine, but you never said anything about your recommendations from your teachers.

Based on what’s here, you’ve got a pretty decent/very good chance.

How is karenasaurus supposed to know about her teachers’ recommendations? Those are supposed to be confidential and it drives me crazy when people on CC say “my teacher recs were great.” It’s snide and sleazy.

Karenasaurus, you’re on track with a good chance with your applications. Your few Bs really shouldn’t hurt you too much since you’re in mostly pre-AP and AP classes.

How the hell are you 14 in 10th grade. I came into the yr 14 and turned 15 in sept. which was super late. You came in 13 in 10th grade and turned 14?

Your young for a freshman right now also. Good thing your repeating

someones a little cocky.

Wow, your extremely interesting.

Care to tell me if you happen to be this fine young lady?

[YouTube - FOAR EVERYWUN FRUM BOXXY](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yavx9yxTrsw)

Hay chill out.

Hun, I’m not trying to be cocky or anything, but I’m just another fish in the sea of a gazillion people applying to boarding school, and I gave my best and honest description of myself.

If you honestly think I’m being “cocky”, I’m going to tell you right now…I wasn’t trying to be, and if I came off as cocky, you probably just got the wrong impression :]

Awww thank you for your honest reply, I really appreciate that :]

Hahhahhaa nopeee I’m not.

Sorreeee.

That’s …Boxxy?

I’m…Karen, tis nicetomeetchoo:)

I’m turning 15 this September.

I skipped a grade & started school early a year :]

Hahaha yeah I’m repeating 10th grade(:

Hahha well, as I have no say in whether my teacher recommendations were good or not, I don’t know how well they went, but I’m sure they were fine:]

Thanks for replying:)

well “hun”, i’m a year younger than you so I dont think you have a right to call me hun.

WAIT. i forgot. im actually 3 months older than you, so chill with the hun, and treat me as an adult.

Woah dude, you need to chilllll way outtt, mkay?

You don’t need to be rude to get your point across, unless you don’t know any other way, and then I would just suggest not posting.

And FYI; I call pretty much everyone hun, even if they’re like, 4 years older than I am.

Are you a sophomore?

And trust me, if you saw me, you would not be able to tell that I was fourteen.

Btw, I don’t treat people 3 months older than me any differently than I would with someone 4 or 5 years older than me, so get your facts straight.

urgh. people, i know they are frayed nerves with all the commotion surrounding march 10th, but let’s play nice!

@ karena: you have the same chance as everybody else. honestly, chances threads are completely and utterly useless, so… you know better than anybody else. xD
your ECs are totally fine with fine arts: music is definitely there (did you send in a recording?) and performing arts, with dance, is fine, too. you’re not doing any sports, though?? maybe that’s something to work on, but it’s not like you can sprout sports overnight. psh, don’t let me make you nervous because i’m just as clueless as anybody else, okay? you seem fine!

stop worrying… there’s only a week left but you know. enjoy yourself instead of stalk around on CC, i guess? (i know. i should speak for myself… but i’m not applying this year, so i’m special!!)
best of luck on m10!

im a freshman, and where i live people have respect for others older and younger. so i’m not sure about you, if people call everyone hun, but for some reason i find that a little offensive. thats just me.

wow…

Yah I hate it when people my age call me “hun”

It’s pretty patronizing and condescending.

This is just a little bit hilarious.
I think that everyone should turn it down a notch.
The anticipation for acceptance/rejection letters is making everyone crazy.

Childish much, hun?

You get the point. :P

Alriiiiight, I honestly didn’t think that people would make such a big deal out of “hun”, so I’m sorry if I caused any random misunderstandings. I use weird words. Like I have a weird vocabulary.

I wasn’t trying to disrespect you, dja617, I was just kind of put off by the fact that you called me cocky, because honestly, I wasn’t trying to be.

No hard feelings to any of you guys, and we all have our quirks, so could we move on?

Anyway, good luck to everyone:)
