White female from NY public school, if that means anything.

top 50 schools. Any particular fields of interest? School preferences?

No.

It’s really important to include rank in chance threads… for all we know your GPA places you in the middle of your class, which isn’t appealing.

From this synopsis, it appears as though your ECs are all over the place. It seems unlikely that you’re the captain of your debate squad AND a varsity cheerleader. Here’s why: varsity cheerleaders cheer games on Fridays, the same day on which debate tournaments occur. This makes me really question your commitment to your activities.

Unfortunately, you are white, and you reside in one of the most competitive states. Nothing about you seems particularly hooky, which is quite important to high-tier private universities.

Because you appear to be relatively well-rounded, I suggest applying to the UC’s because they seem to have a relatively objective criterion for determining admissions that tends to favor well-rounded candidates.

Best of luck.
