Chance a cowgirl/physicist

Okay… I’m not a cowgirl-- I just live in Texas. What schools could I /realistically/ expect to get accepted to? I’m shooting for small liberal arts colleges (Amherst, Middlebury, Rice) and MAYBE Yale (my dream school) or Brown, but I know my chances aren’t great.

Bump 10char

You have a good ACT score. You have a good GPA. However, you have low rigor. I believe you should have taken a few AP courses in Junior year. Also, it is hard to chance without any SAT Subject test scores. I would say, UT is your best bet.

“I am considering self-studying Physics C. I also may have a chance to do physics research at a local university.”

I think these would improve your profile significantly. Otherwise, you do have strong scores and grades and reasonable ECs, but a lack of rigor, apparently. If your school simply didn’t offer many more choices, then it’s cool, but even so, it’s now time to shine through essays, but honestly Yale & Brown are of course long shots. Rice and Amherst are too, but I feel you have much stronger chances at those. Good luck!
