I had to go to a few funerals freshmen and sophomore years, which dramatically lowered my GPA. I tried harder as a junior and ended up with nothing lower than a 4.0.

Your GPA is a little low for Stanford and the other three are reaches for just about anyone, but, even so, do you have a safety?

Your ECs seem weak and your GPA is going to keep you out of HYPS in my opinion unfortunately.

Safety is University of Michigan.

I would not call that a safety. As for HYPS they will be major reaches. Your scores are great, but your GPA is a little low, you lacked rigor freshman year and had almost no ECs for 9th and 10th grade.

Does 9th grade matter THAT much?

For UMI not that much but for HYPS I’m afraid so.

Yes, they (top schools) expect you to be involved in things and challenging yourself for your entire high school career.
