For context, I did all of my school years in France but in 8th grade I became depressed which really impacted my grades and attendance. I then started a self-paced American school to show universities that I was determined to succeed.

11th grade: 17/20; French baccalaureate (I): 15/20
12th grade: 18.7/20; French baccalaureate (II): expected 17+, and magna cum laude

American school:

Schools test optional
NYU ED2 (FA needed)
U Miami RD (FA needed)
Edhec (No FA needed/automatic scholarship)
Essec (No FA needed/automatic scholarship)
ESCP (No FA needed/automatic scholarship)
Sorbonne (No FA needed/automatic scholarship)
Assas (No FA needed/automatic scholarship)
UCL (need based)
LSE (need based)
Paris Business School (no FA needed)

Thank you!!!

Ucl and LSE will not provide any FA.
Sorbonne and Assas: depends on the program you applied for. Basic L1 without concentrations or joint subjects should be fine.
Edjec/essec/escp: are you applying to the 4-year Bachelor’s or applyibg to a prépa to get into their programme grande école?
Both NYU and UMiami are need-aware so while your profile is excellent how much you can afford is going to greatly impact your odds.
You should quickly add Knox, Allegheny, Luther, Concordia-Moorhead, Capital-OH, Truman State, Agnes Scott, Wooster, DePauw, Hendrix, St Lawrence, Hobart&WilliamSmith, Ithaca, Marist (through CommonApp).

Hi! I did not know for LSE and UCL, my counselor told me to apply and that they are need based so I did.

I’m applying for a post-bac bachelor for all of the French business schools. And I will probably apply for gestion or economics at Sorbonne and Assas.

I actually asked NYU yesterday and they told me that they are not really as need-aware as before. She explained that they just know if you need FA, not how much. Apparently it changed with the NYU promise.

Thank you for your feedback on my profile. I am really insecure about it and I kept feeling like I wasn’t doing enough.

I will look into those schools. Thank you!

NYU promise only applies to US Citizens - are you a US citizen?

Highlight Precalculus for the UK and all the French programs - if economics is taught as a social science at the bac level, at French universities it’s taught as a form of Applied Math and they want a thorough Math background; in the UK, at UCL, LSE, etc, they expect spé Maths/maths expertes. For the record, Precalculus is “Analyse&Fonctions” in French.

Since you already started a UCAS application, throw in Aberdeen, Stirling, Strathclyde. I believe they have some scholarships for Europeans (Scottish universities are quite upset with Brexit and try to retain European students). You’re past the application deadline but they’ve been known to be flexible for internationals. List Precalculus in your qualifications list (beside bac de français and your specialties).

The US colleges I listed are all reputable and accepting applications. Apply for Economics or Political Science (or PPE).

You should also apply to UdeM and McGill (again, highlighting your Precalculus senior course -calculus would be better but it is what it is.)

NYU Promise apply to everyone that is applying as a freshman.

I am a French-citizen therefore I have the EU pricing. For instance, Sorbonne is 200€, EDHEC is 7,000€, ESCP is 10,000€…

Sorry, that’s correct - the tuition guarantee applies to internationals too starting Fall 2024, which is awesome. :ok_hand:
But NYU remains need-aware for internationals - only Amherst, Bowdoin, Brown, Dartmouth, Harvard, MIT, Princeton, and Yale are, AFAIK, need blind/meet need for internationals.
I will keep my fingers crossed for you at NYU of course - looks like a great fit.

You’d get the French pricing at McGill and UdeM, too. Worth a try if the deadline hasn’t passed (might have been Feb 1?)

In the UK, Europeans are considered international and there’s very little financial aid (except in some cases at Oxbridge and at the Scottish universities that want to keep their link to continential Europe).
But you have very good safeties - don’t forget to highlight your precalculus course as a way to show you did have a math spé in addition to the 3 you took. It can be disqualifying not to have a math spé for some Parisian universities. You can also apply to IAE.

Do keep us updated -you’ve got amazing grades and superb ECS, I can see why the US would be a good place for you to pursue your education.

Thank you that is so nice!!

I thought about applying to McGill but realized that I’d rather stay in France.

Why?
Serious question, since you’re interested in North American universities.
It’s considered equivalent to a Grande Ecole+Montreal is a fantastic, bilingual city with lots to do for students+you got the grades for it so you’d hear back quickly+ Quebec has a very healthy job market for college graduates compared to France (even for people who graduate from universities other than McGill or UdeM).
