Hi I am a HS junior and here is my info:

GPA: 3.7 weighted
SAT:1710
ACT: N/A
Planning to take SAT II’s in June
ECs:

Secretary of Key Club for two years and was the distinguished secretary in my district
Model UN treasurer

I am thinking about Clemson, Virginia Tech, and UVA. What are my chances for those schools? Thanks!!!
Are you a VA resident? How did your test scores break down; are your Math scores strong for VA Tech? I suggest trying the ACT at least once and re-taking the SAT in the early fall. I would say your chances at UVA are nonexistent from out-of-state. It’s probably a reach if you’re a VA resident. Clemson is more of a match.
A bunch of titles does not mean strong ECs. You need to relate that to your academic interest, and go more in-depth. Anyone can have a title really, just what you do with it that matters.
I also forgot to add that I plan to apply for Geology as my undergraduate major since my parents are geologists. Will that make it easier or more difficult to get in?
UVA is a high reach, VTech is a reach (although geology does help there).
Have you run the NPC on Clemson?
Plan to retake the SAT and to take the ACT in September, because your score makes all three reaches.
In the meanwhile, develop a balanced list of schools with two safeties (UMW? George Mason?) and three to five matches.
Possibilities around the country:
Allegheny, App (NC), Auburn, College of Charleston, Denison, Shepherd, CPP (California), Wooster, Guilford, Gustavus Adolphus…
Yes I have consistently. Also I score above 700 on both of my SAT subject tests consistently. I’ve been really studying dilligently and I might be able to achieve a 3.8 by the end of exams.
Ok, sounds good then.
VTech and Clemson remain reaches, but within reach.
UVA… apply once you’re done with all other applications, as a “you never know” application, then forget about it, and do NOT prioritize it over “reasonable” choices.
Look into CoC, App, CPP (perhaps even Cal Poly SLO), Shepherd?
you’re pretty much guaranteed clemson honestly
just make sure you have good recs and essays, and demonstrate interest to them
VT is another match, UVA is a reach but you still have a decent shot
good luck!
