Also, plan to write collge essay on how been thru obstacles, brother died and dad moved to another state

(can u guys give me specific predicts for each school)

u look good for all of the schools

dude, you’re african american with a 2150
please apply to HYPS

GPA is a little low… but no one in a IB program is lazy.

Your SAT I score is very good, especially with a 1500 on math and critical reading, and your SAT II scores are fantastic. I dunno about HYPS, but you have strong chances at all the schools you’ve listed. Your GPA isn’t great, but then again, you’re in a very rigorous program at a top school, and you’re a URM.

Then again, never mind; apply to HYPS. You might as well.

try HYPS…

what is your class rank? your GPA is low for HYPS, but your activites combined with your rigorous curriculum and test scores may save you. If you have a decent class rank, I would encourage you to apply to any school you want.

AAAARGH! You are NOT a “lazy urm”!!!

Only on CC would a kid with your achievements describe themselves that way. A lot of students on this site are really over the top (good for them, but don’t let that discourage you). Your file is exceptional among the normal population of people trying to get into college.

3.3 UW/4.3 weighted means that you are taking a most rigorous curriculum. Being an IB diploma candidate is a huge thing. Your SAT’s are great. You have shown a long term committment to a number of fine activities which display exceptional CHARACTER, and have reached Eagle Scout which is impressive.

The loss of a sibling and a father moving away are extremely significant events. I cannot imagine an adcom not being responsive to an essay about such things. However, despite your harships, you still did quite well.

I think you have a shot at UCLA, Cornell, UNC and UVA (your best shot might actually be to Cornell because residency won’t be a factor). You will get into the rest (just make sure you have two true safeties). I also suspect that picking your favorite and applying early decision can help. Also, watch out for your grades senior year. You need a strong finish (both semesters).

Good luck! I bet you will end up being a very successful adult. :-)

apply early decision somewhere, you will get in.

ED is a “cop out” always apply EA, keep your options open and wait for the best offer to come

i know the op understands cop out… but if anyone else doesn’t google it on the free dictionary.com.
