<p>I think Rice, NYU, and Colgate are your easiest. Harvey Mudd may be the hardest because I don’t see much where you have demonstrated a math/physics/technology passion. I think you will get into about two-thirds of the remainder. So I would expect you to get into maybe 9 of your list, and waitlisted at 5</p>

I made national merit with a score of 215.
I’ve been on the school newspaper for 4 years and i served as a section editor in the paper during sophomore year.</p>

Other than the internship you mentioned, your extracurriculars look a little weak.

<p>Sorry, are you actually calling yourself mediocre? Brown is a reach for everyone, but other than that, you have a 2300 on the SAT, great GPA, strong extracurriculars. Stop worrying about your chances and go out and rage.</p>

I’m sorry but i used to think i was actually going to get into any of these schools…until i came on to CC. I can’t count how many times i’ve seen kids with 4.0 GPA, 2350+ SAT, and 500+ hours of extracurriculars get rejected from schools like these. Frankly i don’t see myself having that high of a chance at some of the schools i listed above. </p>

<p>And another thing.
Would being a Turkish kid from Utah help me at all? I’m pretty sure Utah is an underrepresented region for a lot of these schools.</p>

<p>I’m wondering if you go to a highly competitive school. From average schools ivies will generally want you to be very top of class. Much looks good here and Utah is surely underrepresented, but I get stuck on the rank.</p>

<p>Yeah it’s probably the most competitive school in the state. We have a ton of really smart kids attracted specifically to this school for the IB program.</p>
