Chance a Newcomer!

Hi! My name is Stephanie Marchante and before I jump into grades and all that i want to tell you guys a tiny bit about me:

I was born and raised in New York City. I moved down to Florida around 5 years ago. I’ve been to 8 different schools over those 5 years, 2 of those years being home schooled for 6 and 7th grade. My father is a gulf war vet with a bachelors in Psychology and my mom is pursuing a nursing degree. I now attend a new school in Orlando; East River High, and I will be in the first graduating class of the school. School has been such a rollercoaster for me, I’ve dealt with sooo much adversity…but I have pulled through with shining colors and a smile ; )

Age: 16

I plan on getting some very good rec’s from some of my awesome teachers+ my great counselor and my principal who I know very well. My essay’s will focus on personal challenges and changes (moving from the North to the South. There seems to be major ideological differences with the people of the north and south) how I overcame them.

ACT score: 33 (The score I’m riding with lol)
SAT: (let’s not go there lol) okay fine 1800/2400 on first try (I did not bother to take it again)

I know that being a minority female may or may not help me, but I have overcome a lot of adversity in schools down in the south.

Colleges I want to apply to:
UC Berkeley (Safety, Aunt teaches Astrophysics there)
NYU (First Choice)
George Washington University
Georgetown University
Cornell University
Yale University
Princeton
and for the audacity of it…Harvard

I’m hoping my essay “narrative” will boost my chances at the Ivies because I know acceptance can be unpredictable.

Oh, I forgot ;p
Cumulative GPA: 3.9 top 10% of class

You’re in at NYU. Berkeley is probably a yes. The ivies are impossible to know, they make no sense honestly, no matter what anyone says, there is no proven formula. Georgetown requires 3 SAT II’s so it’s hard to say as of now. I’m afraid I don’t know to much about George W, but it seems to me your in, they have a pretty high acceptance rate.

Thank you for the info! Yeah, Ivies are kind of a gamble, but I’m curious to see if I have what it takes or what they want- rather : )
