• counselor: thinks that i’m very high-achieving/motivated - should be good.

Essays:

 • good, i think - i’m using the princeton app, so i wrote about a music performance for the choose your own quote one; and talked about a bk i read in english for the jane hirshfield one. my english teachers have all said they were “beautifully composed.” i’ve also rewritten them since i submitted to stanford.

btw. i’m an asian female. hah.

thankies!

i’m at a loss as to why you’d be rejected from stanford. the asian female from cali definitely hurts. but i think you were unlucky not to get in. princeton’s tough. but i think you have as good a shot as anyone. surely if you apply to hyps, it’d be hard to see you getting rejected from all 4. i’ll be rooting for you.

Acadec, go look at the Stanford SCEA thread and try to comprehend how they made their decisions. So many 2350+ applicants were rejected its ridiculous. Essentially, white/asian + 2350+ = instant rejection.

lol, amciw, so true. i hate that though
and thx, acadec, i’ll be rooting for you too :]

As someone who also felt the negative effects of that trend, I agree with you.

amciw, i’m white + 2350+ and i got in…

I know. That makes three people who fit those criteria, one of whom was a Vietnamese first generation whose parents made significantly less than 50,000 last year. You and Baelor can celebrate being the exceptions to the rule.
