<p>The big essay was about how my independent research was spawned by injustices I saw after Hurricane Katrina and how that made me wish to pursue public policy as a major</p>

<p>I think you should consider applying to Harvard. I know a family whose kid who got a likely letter for sailing there. I’m not sure how much of a big deal sailing is at D.</p>

<p>Really CGYE , do you expect admission to an elite school like Dartmouth when you allow a little thing like a major national disaster to disrupt the great love of your life? This raises serious character issues. You are probably going to have to settle for a career in the financial services sector where the government will actually bail you out when things go bad.
