@ptkid16 lol why did you say congrats to Northeastern? @pedestrian1123 You have very good stats. And I must say that if you are lucky enough to get into Northeastern’s University Scholars program, take it! Come here! Also, I would also come here just for Taekwondo. The Taekwondo scene here in Boston/Cambridge is perhaps the most vibrant in the US with perhaps the only exception being Cambridge. And I actually think Northeastern would be sort of a Low Reach at this point. They’ve been cranking things up recently.
@Immanuel because @pedestrian1123 said that they got in haha ^^
@ptkid16 ooooh lol okay.
im still keeping my options open for the time being, but dont get me wrong- im still very thankful to have gotten in
but my top choice would be harvard (kinda cliched)- i just want to wait until april and consider my options
You have really solid ECs, which will help. I’d say most of the Ivies on your list are reaches–not because you’re a weak applicant but because they can be unpredictable. Of the Ivies, I think you have a shot at Dartmouth maybe? That said, I think the UC schools are definitely doable, as are Northeastern and BU.
thank you! @screenname22 hopefully i can get into WUSTL too, but who knows! it makes it kind of exciting XD
UPenn: Low Reach
WUSTL: High Match
UCLA: Match
Berkeley: High Match
Irvine: Match
Yale: High Reach
Dartmouth: Low Reach
BU: Match
Chance back?- http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1724529-interview-preparation-and-affect-on-chances.html#latest
Depending on the school you apply for in penn, I’d say a reach, possibly low If it is cas, mid to high reach if it is wharton or the others. WUSTL I have no idea about its standards but I will say you’re a match! UCLA, Irvine, and Berkeley seem like matches too with your grades! I don’t think I see you at a UC though
def see better things in your future! Yale is a normal reach, and Dartmouth is a mid reach depending on how good your essays are for both schools. BU is a match obviously, but coming from someone who lives in MA, I don’t think you’d like it here very much lol. Boston subway system stinks and the winters are killer so I wish you luck should you choose to come here!
@seoulbound hey I lived in cambridge for a year and worcester for 8- before moving to san diego. ( that is why i applied mostly to the east coast lol) but yea i applied to the CAS- im just hoping at this point! There are a lot of great people in my school and its a tough one (competitive). hopefully it all works out- i feel like my dartmouth essay is good - really talks about my goals and how my environment has influenced me to make an impact!
Reaches: Penn, Dartmouth, Yale
Low reach: WUSTL
High match: UCB
Match: UCLA, BU
Low match: Irvine
If I couldn’t fully described the love I feel for my ecs In my common app, how do I do so… For the resume schools I sent my resume and for pen I gave my late resume to the interviewer. Does that work?
@pedestrian1123 lol i live about 30 mins north of worcester on the nh/ma border lol. if i moved in cali i probably wouldn’t go back to MA… i love the LA weather haha~! at my school 4 kids applied. one wharton, huntsman (Me) and 2 nursing. we’re a great high school, just not competitive for colleges sadly. my common app essay was about my goals and perspective on life, so it is sort of similar
CAS would be a good fit for you it seems~! hope you get in to penn and we’ll see eachother around on quaker days
@seoulbound Thanks for the kind words! It’s all up to the adcoms now XD
