Employment:

Hy-Vee Grocery Store (~30 hrs/wk): 11, 12

Missed over 100 days of school junior year, on pace for like 60 senior year. Lemme know if that matters.

Junior year my GPA was 4.6/4.2/3.6… does this drop matter when I got 4 5’s and 2 4’s on APs, and even self-studied two?

I should have a couple good recs from teachers who say I’m the smartest kid they’ve ever known.

Let me know if I need any more info.

I really don’t see how you missed almost half of the school year and got those grades. Who knows. Well if your counselor doesn’t mention that you never go to school, you should be fine.

your rank is pretty low for a top student who goes to a crappy school. Most applicants for top colleges who come from ‘crappy’ schools are valedictorian/top 5. but anyway…great chances for both schools. SAT’s are excellent…economic status should help

Fine means accepted to MIT and CalTech? lol

Don’t forget 2nd tier CMU, RPI, CWRU they’ll love your scores and dismiss your grades, and maybe give you more aid than a top tier engineering school.

Yeah, I’m gonna apply to RPI, too, but I know I’ll get in.

btw, I don’t think RPI’s 2nd tier.

I think he meant lower than the first two, RPI is definitely on a different level than MIT/Caltech, but it isn’t THAT much worse.

Just remember AP scores aren’t factored into the college’s decision, only the rigor of the courseload and them seeing that you took the AP.
