Chance a sophomore for Columbia/give pointers or suggestions?

<p>I’m currently a pre-IB sophomore. Can you chance me for Columbia and/or give me pointers and suggestions? I am a full-time IB student next year. Would being an IB student in one of the two schools in Nebraska make a difference? Should I do both IB and AP next year? Please help.</p>

<p>Bump. If anyone find it hard, or even impossible chancing a sophomore, can you give me suggestions or things I should work on?</p>

<p>EDIT: Or name me a school that at highest I can ever hope of reaching? I think the highest ACT score I can get next year as a junior is 30. As for general question essays about why I’m unique/different, I’ve already started on them and I think it kinda’ makes me stand out a little. I think it’s original, but I don’t have experience with much so I can’t know for sure.</p>

<p>A 30 would put you at the bottom range for (15th-35th percentile) for most highly competitive schools. With all other factors falling in to place (more EC involvement,Great LOR’s and Essays etc) it is possible to be admitted to any school with those numbers, however you may want to look in to some of the top public universities, or second tier of elite universities. The Princeton Review top 50 is a good place to start, and then start to narrow it down once you have an intended major.</p>

<p>Come back at the middle/end of Junior year with SAT/ACT test scores, because at this point there’s not much to go off of because those tests are pretty important to the application process.</p>
