Was school treasurer and 2 years in the student council (was vice chairman first year and chairman second year). Being a student council member, you do various things, basically, a lot of depth.</p>

<p>So what are my chances? Yeah I’m as average as they get, maybe a little above average but those are my scores and credentials. Also, My SAT Subject Test scores are horrendous and BU would like me to have SAT Subject tests, how do I fare?</p>
<p>Your SAT I scores are all near/above the 75th percentile for BU admits except for your math, but you’re 20 points above the 25th percentile and I’m assuming you’re not really pursuing math or anything math-intensive as a major so its not a problem.
Your academic profile is good, perhaps a bit is left wanting but not enough to keep you out of BU.
Your SAT IIs seem like your biggest weakness but aren’t going to destroy your application as it’s not uncommon for US universities to be a bit lenient with those as the SAT II scores are not commonly published by universities, therefore lessening the need for 750+. Your Bio score is good though.
Your ECs are good, even above average, I daresay, for BU.
On paper, you look like a good match for BU, it’s really up to your essays, teacher recs, and need for financial aid etc. that will be the dealbreakers. Being asian lol, that might be a small problem but again, you seem like a good match for BU - try looking for the percentage of asians BU has enrolled if you haven’t already. Who knows? Asians might not be an ORM for BU. Good luck! Go South Africans! :)</p>
<p>boramk - I actually think you have a good shot at BU. Granted that the SATII are weak but the fact that you’re from South Africa (yeah I know you’ve got that sexy South African passport that I am dying to have :P) and that you have good grades for IGCSE and A-Levels should help tremendously.</p>
<p>P.S. Did you only do 5 IGCSE? I thought it was mandatory to do 7…</p>
<p>Science counts as a double award so its 6. Also I completely failed Spanish on my ass so they barred me from writing it, otherwise it would have been 7. My school is not that strict, I guess yours was?</p>
