I go to Macomb Community College, which is in-state. I initially wanted to pursue engineering, but changed to IT after taking some courses. Some engineering-related courses I have credit for are Calc 1+2, Linear Algebra, Physics 140+141, and EECS 183. I didn’t do as well as I had hoped in those classes, which is why my GPA went down. I did well in my programming class though, but I liked the idea of combining UX/UI design with Software Development, which is why I’m applying to the SoI.
- 3.48 GPA
- 48 credits
- First gen college student, low income
- Extracurriculars/Awards: Won 1st place in diversity writing contest, and was featured in college newspaper. I also designed and programmed a few websites.
I know my GPA is low, but will my engineering course rigor make up for it? What are my chances?
