Geez, i’m just reading these threads and kids are like ya i get a 2200, i’m average? lol.

I’m from Edina, Minnesota.
Male, Chinese born in China
I graduate in 2008 and i will probaly apply for financial aid

I’m getting a 3.7 weighted right now.
My notable classes were: 9th grade - Enriched physics
10th grade- Enriched chemistry, AP world
11th grade- Enriched spanish 4, AP us history, AP american lit, Enriched biology, Enriched math

I plan to take in my senior year: Ap physics, Ap world literature, Ap spanish 5, Ap econ, Enriched precalc, and possibly AP chem or AP enviromental science

We’re getting rid of class rank (thank god, a 3.9 weighted was ranked like 160 or something).

My SATs are pretty low, but I got a 1840. I plan to take IIs and the SAT Is again next year, shooting for a 2200 or so.

My ACTs are about the same, i got a 27. Plan to retake next year, did not study for either tests this year.

Extra curriculars is where i am truly average
Band until 9th grade
Choir until 10th grade
Played the piano for quite a while too
Confirmed at church, and was studying to become a peer leader
Mission trip this summer
Youth Leadership Conference this summer
Plan to coach 9th grade basketball next year, math team next year, and possibly debate.
Breakfast book club
I also have volunteered with the salvation army and feed my starving children.
I dont know if this counts, but i babysat my sisters (both 7) every weekday last summer.

(see, clearly i’m trying to get quantity over quality, which i know, isn’t good)

Some other info that MIGHT help - I competed in the augsburg college writing competition this year. Didn’t win or anything (although i sincerely believe it’s because i mailed it too late, i really thought i had a solid prose).
I plan on competing in the simens competition this summer
I have traveled abroad to China, and roughly, with my combined time from all years, have spent about 8 months or so there (so technically, i am trilengual).
I have also studied there too.
I spent much of my childhood studying in a American chinese school on saturdays, learning chinese and math, and sometimes chess or drawing or something.

This is probaly really boring to read lol. I am willing to do a lot of things over the summer, but it may be too late. Any advice is truly appreciated, as well as thoughts on the possible best college i can get into (i heard that many competitive colleges have TOO many asians :(, unfortunately ).

I don’t know if this helps, but both my parents went to college in China (supposedly very good colleges, i have no idea however). And they supposedly both got 800s in math on their GRES? Whatever test they took. So both my parents have a pretty good education (pretty sure they both have PH.Ds)

Oh ya, and i have plenty of ideas for teacher recommendations. Teachers like me, but then again, most teachers are cool here.
