Hi, this is my first post here so I’m not quite sure how everything works. Bear with me.

I’m a 16 year old white female junior from a VERY competitive public high school near Houston, TX. It’s ranked as one of the best schools in Houston and in Texas. It’s also in the top 400 high schools in the U.S. as ranked by U.S. News. We have ton of National Merit Finalists every year and… well you get the idea- it’s a pretty good school.

Some numbers for you-
GPA: 3.65/4.00 UW and 5.10/6.00 W - I know these are painfully low ![]()
SAT: 2060 (670 CR, 670 M, 720 W) - hoping to raise my score to the 2100-2200 range
Rank: 135/702 (top 19%)

My schedule is pretty rigorous. Freshman year I took 3 honors classes. Sophomore I took 2 honors and 1 AP (which I got a 4 on.) Junior year (this year) I’m in 2 APs and 2 honors. Next year - senior year - I’m planning on taking 6 APs.

My ECs do not have much variety but I’m HEAVILY involved in them.
I’m a member of the International Thespian Society and will have been involved in my school’s Thespian Troupe for all four years. I’ve acted in 7 shows, been on 10 technical crews for various shows, and been on the production staff for 5 different shows. Basically, I’m involved with every show we produce at my high school and I dedicate, on average, 10 hours a week to theatre. I’ve competed at the state level for two years, as well. I’ve been awarded a silver medal type award at the theatre UIL competition in TX.
I’m also a member of the Latin Club and have competed three times and have won five awards regarding Latin.
So while I’m only really involved in two ECs, I’m really involved in both of them and I hope quality will override quantity, per se.

I’ve received “Academic Excellence” recognition at my school for three years now. I’m also National Merit Commended.

Also another bump… I have very little volunteering experience ATM but I hope to rack up about 40-50 hours before I start applying next fall. Is that enough?

Hmm… what else. Some misc. info I guess-
I attended Duke TiP Clinical Psychology Institute and received high recognition from the staff there. I’ve also gone to a summer camp for four years and am planning to be a Junior Counselor there (work experience!) this summer.
Outside of school, I’ve participated in other theatre-related things for seven years and dance for seven years, as well. I taught myself piano and have been doing that for about three years now. Oh, and I’ve been self-involved with film-based photography for about four years. And I’ve been a vegetarian for four years. ;D

Now for the colleges-
I want to double major in Theatre and Clinical Psychology
And I’m interested in…

Northwestern*
UChicago*
Appalachian State
Trinity U
Davidson
Oberlin
Knox
Cornell C

(*I know these are ultimate dreams/reaches boohoo)

So… what are my chances?
Any other schools y’all could suggest for me would be really appreciated!
Thanks!
