Chance an Asian Artist for SCEA?

Stanford is my first and foremost choice, and I am applying SCEA for 2014. But I am worried, would applying SCEA hurt my chances? Or should I just go for it?

Well here are my stats:

3.95/4.5 GPA
[Only B’s in Freshman year at old school. Moved schools for soph. year.]
SAT: 2290 800M, 800R, 690W
SAT IIs: 800 Math II, 750 Biology, 760 US
ACT: 35

AP Tests: Seven 5s, One 4
Senior Course Load: 7 APs + Credited Internship

Main ECs:
Volunteer @ Hospital [Over 100 hours]
3 Years of Track [Varsity + Invite Team]
Art [I photograph]
Full Year Internship @ Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center as a Photographer

Will submit art work. [I got a 5 on the AP Photography exam, my photography teacher said my work was highly unique and certainly had style, the professional photographer I work with also said my work was unique as well as good.]

My essays will be very whimsical and lighthearted, and will focus on my love for science and art.

Thank you for reading and chancing! [hopefully haha]

Wow, there’s an AP Photography exam?

Stats-wise, you’re there. But think long and hard before deciding to apply SCEA-there are tons of people with stats like yours; in SCEA, you may come off as only “average.” Your photography EC seems quite interesting; be sure to expound on that in your essays to set your application apart from the others.

Whimsical and light-hearted can be good for essays–just be careful not to go overboard.

Good luck!
