Chance an average student for some eclectic schools

Hey everyone. I’ve been a lurker on here for quite some time, but now that college apps are gonna be pretty soon for me, I figured I’d better start asking my chances.

Current Junior
UW GPA: 3.81/4.00
Class rank: 60/602
PSAT: 179 (60 CR 55 M 61 W)
SAT (taken once): 1950 (650 CR 630 M 670 W)
APs (my school makes it hard to take them before senior year): AP Stat so far…

Next year I’ll hopefully take more (3-4 at least).

Extracurriculars: treasurer of German club, 85th percentile on national German exam, Foreign Language Honors Society, National Honor Society, quizbowl, 2nd place in county wide German competition

Currently working 28 hours per week at a supermarket cuz I’m poor. When I turn 18, I’ll be working 35+ hours per week. My estimated EFC will be 0.

My high school’s above average for the area, but nationally, it’s nothing special. It doesn’t have good college counseling, which is why I’m here.

Intended major: Biology, Psychology, Neuroscience (I wanna be either a neuropsychologist or a genetic counselor)

Schools (first round):

Smith College
SUNY Geneseo (OOS)
College of New Jersey (OOS)
Mount Holyoke College
University of Virginia (OOS)

Let me know what you think.

And thank you.

Bumping my first post

Smith College- Unlikely
SUNY Geneseo (OOS)- Yes
College of New Jersey (OOS)- Yes
Mount Holyoke College-Unlikely
University of Virginia- no way

Your race is important. If you are black, hispanic, or native american your chances will be drastically greater. As for your chances, you might find my thread useful. It may be a little bit above or below yours in the “what are my chances” forum and it is called “Chance a normal student.”

@Haletonford I am Caucasian actually. So no help for me :<

And thanks for pointing me to your thread. It was helpful to see some other options. I don’t think I can give you too much advice, though, since I am not too well-educated about college chances.

@Jillsfein Thanks for your chancing.

This is just a preliminary list that I’ll revise again over the next few weeks.
