What do y’all think my chances are?

You’ll be in the mix but with the 18% cap, I think they’ll look at essays and recs as the tiebreakers.

But what I really want to know is:

What’s the “Love Club”?

It says right next to it lol, it’s a community service club that focuses mainly on supporting minorities (like African Refuges) in the area

The average weighted GPA at Carolina is 4.4 For in-state students it is hard, but not impossible, to get in with anything less than 4.0 For OSS I would think that it would be an extremely long shot with a 3.8 weighted. I am not as familiar with the ACT as the SAT, but I think your score is in the running with most OSS. In short, your low point is the 3.8 weighted, which in an extremely competitive OSS field, means that Carolina is probably a reach, but not impossible for you.

I think you have a shot because you’re applying from Arizona and that geographic area does not have a huge amount of applicant/ students at UNC. UNC promotes diversity, one of them being geographic diversity. However a 31 ACT is not average of OOS applicants, average is more of a 33-34 ACT. Most of the out of staters I know who got in for the class of 2013 had very, very competitive SAT scores (1450-1580 out of 1600). You have a shot, but it’s not a huge one.
