<p>I spoke to a Miami rep at a college fair here in NJ and it seemed like they were full-court pressing for OOS East Coast applicants. I went to school in Ohio and my sister is a Miami grad (originally from western NY) Ours is a big Public school 2000 kids (500 seniors) and VERY few apply to Midwestern schools save for Michigan,Wisconsin, Indiana (recently hot) and as far as Ohio schools it’s pretty much only Kenyon. The schools Naviance tracking shows 19 applications over the past 9 years with only one denied admission (scattergram shows it as a 900ish SAT) Two students have chosen to attend Miami O. I think your chances are HIGHER coming from certain areas of the country and they want that geographic diversity!</p>
