The teacher that gives you the LOR doesn’t need to be in your field but make sure non academic ones count. My son’s chess teacher mentor was one but was also his AP Physics teacher as well. Lol.

I would have a meeting with your parent’s. We all hear on here to often that the parents can afford X school till it’s time to pay and you apply and get accepted to somewhere you can’t afford.

You may want to find out whether an arts teacher is an acceptable recommender to each college, particularly at colleges where arts is not listed in their required or recommended high school preparation.

Also, some colleges favor one math or science teacher and one English, history, social studies, or foreign language teacher for two teacher recommendations.
