Chance at stern

here s my data: canadian male, regular admission for Stern finance

*SAT I: math 800, reading 700, writing 700(havent take, this is based on piles of practice test results, shouldnt be different too much in the really one)

*SAT II:math II 800, chinese 800, french 700

*3~5 non-significant activities in the range of 1~4years

*rank7~10%

more information…

but thats all… activities arent good, only like better than nothing:
2 volunteer jobs for 3 and 4 years;
1 sport team, badminton;
1 school prefect, for 3 years;
1 debate club, for 1 year.

Just so you know, piles of practice test results won’t really be an accurate representation of your scores. But then again, won’t it, because, it’s like a practice test??!?

All jokes aside, your real results will be probably a bit lower then your practice tests. I know my real deal was a helluava lower than my practice runs

but than again, I have 1 year till my real one, so I will achieve that score.

good recommendations and good essay(not like super good but good)

not to offend you or anything, but i doubt you’ll get those critical reading and writing scores (based on the spelling and grammar of your posts).

well, i admit that. but as a matter of fact i did get that score on practice, probably the scores don fully reflect you real language skill

I think it’s much easier to perform in a language to the standards in a set test. However, in college, you’ll be asked to perform in real time in the real world, so good English is a must. Otherwise, you’ll be at a serious disadvantage during classes and when presentations and papers are graded.

well, i am very confident about my language performance(which is the manner of speaking) and i am a test whore plus i am not a english mother tongue

but thankyou for the concerns, but i really can achieve that so just wanna a bit of reassurence about my chances

well, just wanna correct that “(which is the manner of speaking)” to (such as manner of speaking)…just in case

do you speak french normally, or english?

chinese then english then french

ohh, okay. i was just wondering

ohh, so do i stand a solid shot to stern?

2 volunteer jobs for 3 and 4 years;
1 sport team, badminton;
1 school prefect, for 3 years;

Those are bad EC’s. 2200 SAT score, while isn’t great, should be enough for Stern. You don’t even need 2200s to get into Wharton. EC’s play a MUCH more important role. Your rank isn’t too hot, try to get into the top 5%, unless you’re in full IB–thats the exception.

However, your shots to Stern, at the moment, look very good. As long as you can get 2200 on the SATs, you should have no problem. Stern isn’t TOO competitive (but it really depends on perspectives)

ps: omg i can’t believe i just rated someone’s chances. I haven’t done this since April. Ohhh the memories… the memoriess…

lol, but thinks though, I think I ll try to achieve 5%
