Usually when people think their own essays are “excellent,” they get rejected.

i assure you they are phenomenal.d

HOW PHENOMENAL BOY?

I would love to compare essays with you after I get my final draft done :P

Ok, it’s thread and members like this that really bother me. Cristianoronaldo can’t decide who he is. Last June, this member did a collection of chance me threads.

One of these is: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/harvard-university/736966-chance-me-no-seriously-do.html#post1062811183

In these threads, his profile has changed and not in the way that I would expect.

Last June, he stated that he had taken two IB exams. These exams, no longer are important enough to reference in this latest thread.

Last June, he had taken and received scores for three SAT II History 740, Math 800, and Physics 740. Now, this September, his History stayed the same, Math dropped to a 750 and there is now no longer a third SAT II, Physics. Also, he seems to think that he can use his ACT as his third SAT II.

His AP’s have also changed. Last June, he included Biology and Physics C on his list. Now, they have changed to Calculus and Chemistry.

His GPA, was a 3.86. Now it is a 4.0 and rank has changed from a 5/1300 to a 6/1300. I can forgive the rank change because they can easily change. As for his GPA, he does not necessarily get to claim a 4.0 with “all grades above a 92”. At my D’s school, the student needs all grades to be a 93 or above. A 92.5 does round to a 93 which achieves the 93. A grade of 92.4, rounds down to a 92, which is a 3.67. It is possible that he has an explanation for the change and, if it were not for the missing IB exams, SAT II tests and and AP classes, I would not even be questioning it.

As for his certainty of phenomenal essays, I hope they are better that what he feels are catching thread titles.

As for chancing you, I would give it a shot, but I have no idea which stats are your real stats. If you care to clarify them, I’d be happy to give them a look.

smoda you obviously spend alot of time looking up people on this website, the only question i have for you is can i send my 2240 + History 740, Math II 750, and ACT w/ writing 31. Can my ACT substitute my 3rd subject test?

The other stats were only 4 posts prior to your one opening here and you now only have 21 posts total. Skimming them took less than 2 minutes. It was the typing that took a while.

As for your question, the ACT substitutes for the SAT not the SAT IIs (please someone correct me if there are exceptions about which I am unaware).

you can send the ACT + writing instead of the SAT and two subject tests.

to the OP: your stats arent that amazing. your ECs are average, and you come off as kind of a jerk. smoda was only trying to help. your inconsistencies do make you kind of unbelievable.
like the majority of applicants, you will most likely be rejected.

thanks for the support bunny - but I do want to make a correction to your statement. Harvard actually requires SAT or ACT plus 3 SAT III. The three SAT II are required even if it is the ACT that is submitted.

It is really unfortunate that testing requirements for college applications varies so much. And know all of you applying this year and forward have to include the varied score choice policies - and from what I have read, that can vary widely too.

fuzzy dumb moron, your are an idiot firstly. secondly my stats are amazing as I am in the top 1 percent in everything on my resume. I am a jerk and smoda you seem more useless than the fuzz idiot. answer the questions, do not give your own opinion because quite frankly i cherish a hippos a considerable amount more you daft halfwit.

Are you serious? Fail… I don’t know whether to laugh or cry in sorrow. I’ve just sent a phone call using my Ivy League connections to Harvard University informing them of your comments. They have assured me that they are using the ECHELON system to ascertain your IP Network address even as I post right now. They will consider your application in light of this recent comment, and I don’t think things will go too favorably for you. I’m currently on the phone with the Harvard alumni interviewers, and they will inquire about this at your interview. Also, there will be some kind of background check into your Extracurricular activities because of some red flags that were raised. Tell your GC to expect phone calls and a few visits. Just to be sure you know. Harvard may also notify the other Ivy League schools and the UC University system.

Or you should just apologize to fuzzyfirebunny in a lengthy, detailed post and I’m sure Harvard will note that you were just joking.

You asked a question in 7 and I answered it in 8. Your welcome!

Gryffon - Interesting comment. Come to think of it, D is friendly with an Adcom who is a proctor in the next dorm. She tends to get quite put off by these kinds of posts. Might be worth an message.

Gryffon, after you’re done totally pwning him, can you put in a good word for me too? I’m class of 11.

(:

Hey everyone who viewed this forum,
my friend made this account posting my information as a joke to get into an argument with people. I am sorry for his comments, as he is very immature. I do not even expect to be applying to Harvard as I know my stats are not superb. Most of all, I apologize to smoda61 and fuzzyfirebunny because of my friend’s direct attack. The reason you can believe this statement is that he came straight to tell me when threats to my admission were presented and gave me the password so I could apologize on his account. I do not intend to apply to Harvard, but I am considering some other Ivy League schools and I would be deeply disappointed if I were not even considered because of my “friend’s” immaturity. Please disregard all the attacks made above, and I am sorry for the upset this could have caused.

Don’t believe you.

Critianoronaldo – what you are claiming about your friend may be true, but I think that it is important for you to understand why there are going to be CCers who will continue to wonder.

The first post/thread for this account was on June 25, with similar posts/thread on June 26 and June 27 and then activity stopped June 30. It came alive again with the Globo thread (the thread that you are stating is a profile that describes you but posted by a friend on his account). If this is his account, then the earliest posts, in June, to Harvard, Brown, Princeton, Upenn, etc would logically be your friend’s stats while the stats on this thread are yours. I, and other CCers, could find it odd that both “his” and “your” stats include VP of a tutoring society/organization and VP of the student council. Student council and most organizations only have one VP. There are other coincidences that could also raise questions.

smoda, I understand that there is no definite way that everyone will believe what I am saying but I swear that this is not a lie. Also, I think I might have been unclear in my previous post. My friend posted my stats not his; he copied and pasted my stats from my previous posts in June and slightly changed them. I am sorry for all the trouble caused.

I am unsure why people are wasting their time responding to a kid (or his friend) who is obviously messing around, for whatever reason. Why not just ignore this and let it drop into obscurity? There are many others here sincerely looking for guidance.

Yeah. Let’s drop this whole issue.

My post regarding my Ivy League contacts was completely false. I do not know the Harvard Admissions people, nor do I know the alumni interviewers. The Ivy League is just a sporting league that has comparatively bad football teams. The ECHELON system is a military/intelligence system that is controlled by the US government and certain NATO members, and thus Ivy League schools cannot track your IP address. Harvard will not launch inquiries into your schools, and they will not be able to ascertain your personal information from a mere username. I am glad you did clarify the issue however. Tasteless insults do not improve the nature of our conversation, and some very offensive comments were made. So a great night to all those in Hahvard and those aspiring to be admitted to the mascotless school.
