<p>She doesn’t believe she has any shot at any Ivies or BC. I think different. Any ideas?</p>

<p>Taking this year: AP Calc AB, AP Eng Lit, AP Chem, and AP Euro</p>

<p>EC’s:</p>

<p>Art Club (10-12) - Gather with others to discuss different styles of art and create certain styles of paintings together</p>

<p>Thomas Jefferson Forum (9-10) - Community Service. Helped out a Cradles to Crayons and other places.</p>

<p>QARI (Quincy Asian Resources, Inc.) (10-12) - Community Service. Helps the Asian community in our city and gets the city to blend cultures and appreciate each other. </p>

<p>Science Olympiad (11,12) - Team got 21st/40 in state competition this year, highest rookie placement.</p>

<p>AFJROTC (9-12) - Part of the Kitty Hawk Honor Society (Vice President). Part of a Drill Team (won first place in a regional competition). Flight commander (one of the highest ranks in ROTC). Also in charge of nominating and distributing awards within our program.</p>

<p>Potential Hook: First generation college student</p>

<p>Awards:</p>

<p>-City wide Lions Youth Speech Competition Finalist</p>

<p>-Daughters of the American Revolution Award (ROTC student who has demonstrated academic excellence, dependabliity, good character, adherence to military discipline, leadership, and a fundamental and patriotic understanding of the importance of the reserve officers training corps)</p>

<p>-Reserve Officers Association Award (Outstanding dedication to citizenship, knowledge of civic responsibility, military orientation, self discipline, and a sound work ethic.)</p>

<p>-Many ROTC ribbons for various reasons and occasions</p>

<p>Recs: Will have recs from her ROTC instructor who she has had for 4 years and has spent a lot of time with and her chemistry teacher who loved her in class and really liked her more than just a student who did well.</p>

<p>Maybe BC, bit she’s right about the ivies.</p>

<p>Hate to break it you, but she has less than a 5% chance at the ivies. BC is a reach too, but its a realistic one. I hope her college list has some matches and safeties in it too. Good Luck :)</p>
