Chance for an interview at HBS 2+2 program

<p>Pros:

  1. GPA: 3.65 (3.4 as freshman improving to 4.0 as junior)
  2. GMAT: 770
  3. Ethnicity: Eastern European
  4. Undergrad: Math/econ major and attend a very top target school for free by having financial aid/multiple outside scholarships
  5. Languages: Spanish, Arabic, native Eastern European language, and English
  6. Work experience: Three summers finance internships - one of the top ten finance companies in the world with asset more than $25 billion.
  7. Recommendations - strong recommendations, very well known professors but who are not eminent
  8. Leadership experience: Multiple activities/recognized in an activity on national level.
  9. Strong Essays
  10. National level awards in multiple activities.</p>

<p>Problems:

  1. Need lots of $$$$$$$$ in aid to attend school
  2. No family connection in finance/HBS
  3.      No URM/girl&lt;/p&gt;

<p>You’re an econ major with experience in finance. HBS 2+2 isn’t looking for people like you. They want brilliant liberal arts majors who wouldn’t otherwise be interested in business school. Apply to regular HBS MBA.</p>

The HBS 2+2 FAQ says otherwise:</p>

<p>When the 2+2 Program was originally created it primarily targeted students who are not already on a business track (i.e. students studying the liberal arts, sciences, engineering, etc.). However, we are now encouraging students from all undergraduate majors to apply (that includes those with concentrations and experiences in business-related fields).</p>

<p>Oh true HBS 2+2 is a relatively new program, they must still be figuring out what they want from applicants.</p>
